Where to stay in Bangkok?

If you are close to the BTS or MRT, you are just close to most of the attractions. So either Silom or Sukhumvit should be fine. Silom is of course closer to the night life. I didn't know there's a free shuttle to and from the airport. Been traveling in and out of Thailand but never heard of a free shuttle.
